History
The ghat carries the name of the Jain teacher Vaccharaja and belongs to the Jain traditions of Kashi. Like most of the city ghats it was rebuilt in the eighteenth century. Today it is a quiet, simple bathing place for the local people. It stands only steps from Assi Ghat and yet sees no crowd.
