History
In its name this ghat keeps the memory of Prayag, where the Ganga meets the Yamuna at the Sangam. Families who could not travel to that distant city began to perform their final rites here instead. Pind-dan for the ancestors and ash-immersion go on through the year. The water lies deep and the bank stays free of loud crowds.
