Description
A unique temple with no idols — dedicated to Mother India. Built in 1918 and inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in 1936, it houses a massive 3D marble map of undivided India (30 ft x 30 ft) made of Makrana marble — the same stone used for the Taj Mahal. History
Built in 1918 by freedom fighter Shiv Prasad Gupta and inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi on May 15, 1936. Designed by architect Madan Mohan Malviya, the 3D marble map spans 30 feet by 30 feet, showing mountains, rivers, and plateaus in relief. The temple was conceived during the Indian independence movement as a way to foster national unity through a shared reverence for the motherland.
